Beeku: "Nothin'" Lapis hissed distastefully at Electmon while pawing at the ground in an agitated manner. For safety reason Electmon moved some of the eggs farther away from Lapis, with the help of Faith.

"Calm down, it's not like anyone would try anything like that again" Electmon tried to calm Lapis down. "Not with all the new tamers flooding to Japan."

"Newbies mah ass. I swear they're all half there in da brains. Ya sure ya didn't drop 'em all before dey hatched? Fer fucks sake they've got fluff fer brains and can't think of anythin' 'sides friendin' everything in sight" Lapis ranted while shaking his fists at the perplexed Electmon.

"They tried to hug him" Faith explained to Electmon.

Lapis would have dug his claws into the plush ground of Primary Village and ripped the fabric off to let the stuffing spill out if his rookie form had any claws. He was growing more agitated by the day.

VelkynKarma: Emily walks into Primary Village with Crocutamon trotting at her heels, glancing around to make sure everything is still in order. After not one but two attacks on Primary Village, the Knowledge shard holder is easily able to deduce that something about the village attracts unwanted attention, and stops by periodically to see if everything is in order. Crocutamon goes along gamely, mostly because when Emily is doing that she's not sitting in her room studying and being boring.

At first they think it'll be a quick stop, but Crocutamon's ears perk up as he sees another human and digimon team ahead chatting to Elecmon, and he gives a toothy grin. "Hey look!" he says excitedly. "Other people! C'mon, let's go say hi!"

"Wait, they look like they're busy, don't be rude--" Emily begins, but Crocutamon has already darted ahead to investigate. She sighs in exasperation and speeds up a little to try and catch up before he causes trouble.

Beeku:  Lapis' sharp hearing detected something coming at them at fast speeds. He whirled around and roared loudly, baring his fangs. Lapis didn't even care if this was going to terrify some freshly hatched digimon. His vermilion eyes glowed as his mood worsened. "Beat it!"

"Now now Lapis" Faith tutted in her prim tone of voice. "Take a break, before you rip someone's arm off" Faith reached into her bag and handed Lapis a tin of cookies.

"I ain't got time ta deal with newbies" Lapis sneered before snatching the tin and sulking off. The crowd of digimon at the village parted to let Lapis pass through.

"I'm sorry about him" Faith crouched so she would somewhat be at Crocutamon's eye level. "My partner has been having a bad...lifetime I guess" Faith gave a warm grin "What bring you here?" Faith looked up at Emily "I think I've seen you two around before"

VelkynKarma: Crocutamon skids to a halt when Lapis puts on an aggressive display, but he only seems startled for a second. Then his ears lay back and he shows his own teeth and crouches at the ready, snapping back, "You beat it, it's a free village, jerk!"

He's still showing teeth when Lapis slinks off sulking, but when Faith crouches down and apologizes he seems somewhat mollified. His ears flick back up, although he tells her sullenly, "I'm not a newbie. I've got lots of experience. I can go Ultimate."

"With my help," Emily points out, as she catches up. "Sorry," she adds, more to Faith. "Your Digimon might be having a bad day, but mine rushing into things probably doesn't help matters any." She bends long enough to fuzz Crocutamon's mane affectionately, before saying, "Anyway, yeah, I think I've seen you around the campuses a lot too! I'm Emily, and this is Crocutamon. We've been with the Sol for a few years."

Beeku: "It's a pleasure to meet you miss Emily" Faith dusted her hands off before holding it out to offer a friendly handshake. "I'm Faith, and that ball of violence that sulked off my my partner Lapis- Bietimon" She cast a worried glance back where Lapis stormed off to- just to make sure he wasn't punting anyone for stress relief. "No kidding? I've been in Japan around three years now. Odd how this is actually our first encounter"

Lapis wasn't too far off. He angrily munched on his cookies while glaring at the new pair from behind a tall toy block thing. Only Lapis would be able to look so angry while eating sweets. He didn't trust them. Crocutamon was also probably lying about getting to ultimate. Either way, if that dog hyena tried to do anything to his naively stupid human, Lapis was going for the jugular of the other human. And eye for an eye and all that.

VelkynKarma: "Same here, it's great to meet you," Emily says, shaking Faith's hand warmly. "I guess it is a little weird we haven't met…but people go in and out of the campuses all the time, it's so hard to keep track of everybody."

She looks over at Lapis when he's introduced as well, and although his angry glare is a little disconcerting and makes her a little nervous, she swallows and adds, "It's nice to meet you too, Lapis. Uh, sorry if Crocutamon startled you or anything, he means well, he's just…excitable."

Crocutamon huffs at that, and his ears go down again. "At least I don't go around trying to scare babies," he says, with an air of superiority. "Or tell anybody else what to do."

"Crocutamon," Emily says with exasperation, "please don't start by picking fights, okay? If he wants you to leave him alone, then just leave him alone."

Beeku: "Oh dear Faith murmured under her breath when she saw the spark happen between the two digimon.

"BABY!?" Lapis hissed Oh it was ON. He didn't waste any time trying to think up of any sassy come back- honestly that was too much work when his fist could do the talking. Faith took a step back. She of course would love to stop any fights, but then again it wasn't smart to stick any limb close to Lapis. She would get mauled in an instant. The only upside was, Lapis hadn't used any actual attack yet. A purely physical brawl is always survivable by any digimon in her opinion.

"Can you think of a way to get them away from the eggs that are still here?" She asked Emily while keeping an eye on the digimon. A storm was brewing and it was best to take precaution before a massacre happened.

VelkynKarma: Crocutamon is not known for being patient or passive, and when Lapis gets aggressive he responds accordingly, leaping back to dodge any flying fists and baring his teeth in a sneer. "Yeah," he taunts, "Baby, and a stupid baby too, 'cause I didn't even call you that! But hey, I guess if you think you are--you'd know best, right?" He takes a snap at Lapis with his strong jaws when the other digimon gets close.

"What--what are you--hey, stop that, that's not--" Emily yelps, when the Digimon start brawling. "Crocutamon! Knock it off!" She waves her hands helplessly at her partner, and stumbles back a little when the fighting starts, trying to not get caught in the middle. At Faith's inquiry, she gives her fellow Tamer a helpless look and says, "I don't think they're planning on listening to us at all…maybe we should just…move the eggs away from them?"

And then, looking apologetic, she adds, "I am so sorry. He can get stubborn or confrontational sometimes but I've never seen him do…this before." She gestures at the brawl.

Beeku: "Chalk it off as Lapis' unique charm" Faith murmured dryly. "Though I suppose it's best that there's only one Lapis. Can you imagine something like this happening with every digimon you meet?" Welcome to Faith's personal nightmare. The ginger girl started picking up eggs and moving them out of the way of the fight.

Lapis growled in dismay when Crocutamon's teeth dug into his skin. The pain was bearable- he was a berserker type of fighter after all. This was only adding fuel to the fire. He pulled back his massive paw to punch at the hyena digimon. With the right timing, he planned to punch some teeth out. His long tail maneuvered under their bodies to trip up Crocutamon.

VelkynKarma: "Oh dear," Emily murmured, at the thought of having this sort of reaction every time Crocutamon met anybody. She winced in sympathy as she starts to help Faith clear some of the eggs away from the fight, keeping a nervous eye on the brawling Digimon. "That's…that's quite a conundrum…"

Crocutamon grins toothily when he lands a bite, but it turns into a growl of anger when he sees Lapis' massive paw drawing back to punch. He starts to skip back to avoid the hit, but didn't account for the other Digimon's long tail, and gets tangled up in it when he tries to back up, toppling sideways. Lapis' punch doesn't hit him in the face, but he does take a hard shot to the shoulder, and yowls as he rolls a few feet from the force.

"Oh that is it," he snarls fiercely. "I'm biting that tail off!" He lunges forward again, teeth bared, limping slightly from the injury.

Beeku: "Theoretically speaking, if I somehow manage to distract my partner, would your partner sucker punch him?" Faith asked Emily. There wasn't really any point in attempting to break it up if the other digimon was going to finish it. That would only make Lapis upset at her later on. Faith was looking into her bag for just the thing.

"Hey stop that!" Electmon was trying to herd them away from the eggs. His tails were sparking as if he was ready to let out a strong discharge at the pair.

VelkynKarma: Emily grimaces. "That depends on if I could get close enough to grab his collar," she admits. "Usually he stops fighting when I ask him to, but I've never seen him get this angry at somebody before..."

Crocutamon, meanwhile, completely ignores Elecmon's yelling and sparking as he tries to chomp down on Lapis' tail.

Beeku: "Good enough. I'll grab Lapis as well" Faith pulled out a can of pepper spray. In her defense, her digimon was actually willing to bite her, so she needed a way to defend herself. She wasn't trigger happy about this. She waited for the digimon to pass by her "Electmon you may want to clear a path"

"Bring it mangy fart-face!" Lapis flicked his tail right on Crocutamon's nose before snapping it back. It was amusing being able to distract his opponent with his tail- it was like using a laser pointer at a cat! Lapis snarled and aimed for Crocutamon's throat before the other digimon could lunge for his tail.

VelkynKarma: Emily looks alarmed when Faith actually pulls out a can of pepper spray. Is it really possible for tamers to get along so poorly with their partners? She thinks to herself, although tactfully she doesn't ask the question out loud. She could understand a grace period when you got to know your new partner, of course--she recalls being more than a little intimidated by Crocutamon, back when he was Rideremon, when she first met him--but Faith had said they'd been partners for years.

I guess maybe I'm just lucky with Crocutamon, she finally concludes. Out loud, she says, "Er, okay, whenever you're ready," although she still looks a bit nervous….mostly at the prospect of seriously getting bitten by either of the brawling Digimon.

Crocutamon snaps automatically at the tail when it flicks in front of him, and of course misses when it's no longer there. He snarls a second later when Lapis goes for his throat. Fortunately for Crocutamon, his neck is protected by a wide, thick collar, which means any opponent would get a mouth- or pawful of that rather than his actual throat.

While Lapis deals with that, Crocutamon deliberately flops over backwards, rolling with Lapis' momentum. He kicks up with all four of his paws, clawing wildly at any part of Lapis he can reach with four sharp sets of claws, making a high-pitched yowling angry noise the whole time.

Beeku: "Lapis STOP!" Faith sprayed Lapis as much as she possibly could. The two were too close together for her to miss Crocutamon. She had to jump back a little when Lapis quickly kicked Crocutamon towards Faith while turning to cough.

Lapis had clamped down hard on the collar to restrict movement. Even if Crocutamon was better at dodging, now Lapis had him right where he wanted him. He would be able to hold him tight and not let go while his fists wailed on him. Growling a little Lapis allowed for Crocutamon to use momentum to flip them over. His next plan was to wrestle Crocutamon down and smash his head on the...admittedly spongy ground. His tamer interfered though, and she managed to get some of that stinging spray into his eyes.

"AH YA BITCH! IMMA SNAP YER ARM OFF!" Lapis yowled and shot off rubbing his eyes. His nose was far too runny for him to properly scent his human, and his eyes stung too much to keep them open. In fact he was also getting nauseous enough to vomit had Faith kept her finger on the can. His ears flicked wildly while trying to detect movement from people. His instincts demanded that he needed to find everyone and track them before any finishing blows could delete him.

Finding Faith and breaking her wrist was just a bonus.

VelkynKarma: Crocutamon continues to snap and claw and snarl at Lapis, until Faith's timely intervention with the pepper spray. The good news is Lapis lets go of him and shoots off to rub his eyes, but the bad news is while it doesn't get Crocutamon in the eyes, it still smells awful and stings his sensitive nose fiercely.

He howls and rolls to his feet, scratching repeatedly at his muzzle with one of his paws. The howl turns into a whine when he keeps rubbing his nose, and he hisses, "Ow ow ow, what was that for?"

He looks like he's actually about to start rolling around on the spongy ground and rubbing his muzzle into it to relieve some of the stinging, when Lapis screeches his threat. Crocutamon's ears snap up, and he's not sure which 'she' is being threatened but it doesn't matter because attacking humans, especially tamers, is a big 'no' in his book. "The hell is wrong with you?!" he snarls, his voice still stuffy and whiny-sounding thanks to the pepper spray. "Attack your partner? I'll teach you--"

Emily recognizes the tell-tale inhale of breath that comes right before one of Crocutamon's Spell Embers and hastily jumps forward to snatch him by the collar and haul him back, deliberately reaching under his muzzle to snap his mouth closed. "None of that," she says sharply, in what sounds like a lecturing, angry mom tone. "No more fighting, enough!" And she pulls him back farther, although she keeps a wary eye on Lapis, who is seriously starting to scare her.

Beeku: Faith unbuckled her boots and slipped out of them as quietly as she could. She pursued her lips while contemplating her next move. Grabbing Lapis would also mean giving away her position- it also meant putting her hand close to a murderous cat right now. She raised her arm and tossed her boot not too far from where she was standing. Lapis' head snapped to pinpoint that location. Faith tossed her other boot a little further away from her first one.

"YA ain't gettin away from meh!" Lapis pounced with his jaws opened wide. Had Faith actually stood there, he probably would have managed to clamp onto her shin and fracture it with a vice grip. He roared angrily when Lapis discovered her discarded shoes.

Faith made a shushing motion with her mouth to Emily. Faith needed to get out of there without making a sound. She quietly tiptoed over to a large wooden block and climbed it. At least it would buy her some time.

VelkynKarma: Emily watches the entire sneaking proceedings with increasing alarm. She's never been much of a fighter, and while she's gradually gotten better at dealing with dangerous or confrontational situations in order to protect innocent people and Digimon and do her duties as a shard holder, it's always been under the assumption that tamer digimon are allies and safe. Lapis is seriously scaring her right now.

But for all that she's smart enough to stay quiet when Faith makes a shushing motion in their direction. She keeps one hand firmly clamped around Crocutamon's muzzle and the other wrapped around his collar and tries to stay as still and quiet as possible.

Crocutamon looks distinctly displeased about not being allowed to fight and being forced to basically hide from an opponent. Unlike Lapis, however, he doesn't like hurting his partner, and he'd have to bite or claw Emily to make her let go, so he doesn't. Instead he lays his ears back to snow how ticked he is.

Beeku: Lapis hissed and kept pacing while rubbing the spray out of his eyes occasionally, still though nothing was getting accomplished. This was really getting irritating.

Faith pulled out a water bottle and quietly tossed it to Emily to catch- hopefully she wasn't the type to fumble or Lapis would hear them. "For his eyes" Faith mouthed the words without speaking.

"Yer all gunna sitting ducks if we're attacked" Lapis yelled out. "See if I care when dem eggs get infected again! Shit dis time Imma sit out, see if y'all come cryin' ta me then ta fight fer ya." Lapis punched the ground frustrated. "Ya only want a good fighter when he's on yer side, when ya piss meh off den y'all go runnin' to da hills cowards!"

VelkynKarma: Emily's eyes widen when Faith tosses the bottle. She manages to let go of Crocutamon's collar long enough to snag it, just barely, out of the air. While awkwardly still holding Crocutamon's muzzle shut, she manages to open the bottle enough to dribble some on Crocutamon's muzzle to help clear up the pepper spray effects.

Then she hesitates and almost reluctantly points at the bottle and then towards Lapis, as if to ask, Um…him, too? Her expression shows she clearly hopes the answer is 'no.'

At Lapis' taunt about how they'll all be sitting ducks in an attack, Crocutamon actually tries to open up his mouth and argue back. He's a good fighter and not a coward and he's still on the right side, and he can go Ultimate! Just try letting anything mess with them, they don't need that jerk's help! Emily has other plans, however, and clamps his mouth even more firmly shut so he stays quiet, and looks like she's seriously considering sitting on him.

Beeku: Faith shook her head and gave Emily a thumb down sign. If Emily were to approach now, Lapis would just snap his jaws at her, and do much worse. It was best to let him vent his frustrations before helping him out. Fortunately Faith wasn't going to just flat out speak about how Lapis wasn't a thankful digimon by nature. Faith rummaged through her bag. There was another water bottle in there, some tins of food- helpful for bribing other digimon to help her. Faith had a strong durable flashlight with extra batteries, a camera to take pictures of evidence with, and an old beat up book that she pulled out. Faith gestured for Emily to come stand with her so she could write out her thoughts to her.

Lapis sneezed. The pepper spray was quickly getting out of his system. He didn't feel disoriented anymore at least. His paws were firmly on the ground, and the world didn't feel like it was actively shifting to trip him up over his clunky paws. Opening his eyes experimentally he still felt the strong burn, and his eyes were puffy and irritated still, but he was able to make out the coloured blurs. What was the colour of the coat Faith was wearing again? Green? "Why da hell is everythin' green here?" Lapis squeezed his eyes shut again and tried to shake his head to clear his vision. No such luck.

VelkynKarma: Emily looks more than a little relieved when Faith indicates not to help Lapis at the moment; she was nervous about getting too close to him. She gives Crocutamon a warning look before tentatively releasing his muzzle, although she keeps a firm grip on his collar, and they slowly and quietly head over to Faith.

Crocutamon looks irritable about having to stay quiet, but he behaves himself, since Lapis isn't on a total rampage now. He does keep a sharp eye on the catlike Digimon, though, not trusting Lapis near the humans.

Word count at the last page of this adventure!

So this was started up some time after the reboot since Karma and I started an RP after I finished the vetrans picture. Chronologically though this was around some time after the second time Primary Village was attacked and the eggs started to turn black. Lapis and Faith went to investigate but who would they find but fellow vetrans Emily and Crocutamon. What happens after is a lot of scuffles and Lapis being Lapis.
